My 5 Product Face – (No brushes needed!)

These are the kinds of posts I love reading from my favourite beauty bloggers, like Essie Button and A Model Recommends. I find that it’s an easy way to discover new products and what’s so good about them. So here are the five products that I reach for when I’m packing a weekend bag, or if I only have about five minutes to make my face decent enough to be seen in the outside world (with links to where you can buy them). For me, easy make up means minimal products with minimal effort, and no need for faffing around with brushes or suchlike.

The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream, £12

First up is the All-In-One BB Cream from The Body Shop. This is the foundation I like to use most when I need to put something on, but can’t quite face having a full face of makeup on. This product comes out of the tube white and changes colour with the warmth of your fingers, so it feels like you’re just applying your morning moisturiser. I like this so much mainly because it is best applied with fingers, not a brush, so it’s really easy to control how much you are applying, so you can put it just where you need it. I feel like it is not so much adding coverage, as just waking my skin up, which is a lovely easy product for when you’re travelling.

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense, £17

My second product is a cult favourite; Clinique’s Chubby Stick Intense. I think this product is so brilliant because there are so many ways to use it. Obviously you can use it on your lips, either for a soft hint of balmy colour or for a more bold look. These also make perfect cream blushers. Smudge a little on the apples of your cheeks for a rosy glow.

Soap & Glory 'Archery' Brow Tint And Pencil, £10

Soap & Glory ‘Archery’ Brow Tint And Pencil, £10

Soap & Glory’s brow Archery is a brilliant product for use on the go because it’s two-in-one. First I use the crayon end to fill in my brow shape, then I use the tint to draw in hair-like strokes, which together give a really natural overall appearance, to go with the natural looking glow that you have already acquired with the previous two products. If only Soap & Glory made this product in more shades; currently this is only available in two shades: ‘Love Is Blonde’ and ‘Brownie Points’. I’ve found that being naturally dark haired, but having recently lightened by hair, the shade ‘Brownie Points’ now looks a little ashy on me. Still, a favourite product of mine nonetheless, and I will most likely repurchase once I have used up my current one.

E.l.f Cosmetics Jumbo Eyeshadow Stick, £2.95

E.l.f (eyeslipsface) is a trustworthy and affordable brand that I love to go to for my most basic makeup products. Their jumbo eyeshadow stick in the shade ‘Little Miss Thing’ is another great multi-purpose product: perfect for the current glossy eyes trend, as well as doubling as a gorgeous highlight for the cheeks. Just sweep on the colour and blend with your fingertips.

Company Lashes Mascara, free in an issue of Company Magazine

And my final product is simply a good mascara. This is one that I got in Company Magazine a while ago and is a favourite of mine because it gives wonderful length and separates my lashes really well (not to mention, it was free).

And there’s my quick and easy make up done in no more than ten minutes! Great for flights, festivals, weekends away etc. Enjoy!
