Let’s kick off this month’s favourites with a new release (that I’m sure you’ve probably heard enough about), Benefit’s latest mascara – Roller Lash. I am so glad I got my hands on this mini magazine freebie earlier this month, as the full size mascara only just went on general sale and is already out of stock on the UK website. There has been a lot of hype surrounding this mascara, but I feel it deserves it. As possibly the only person on the planet that really didn’t like Benefit’s They’re Real! mascara, I am very pleased to announce that Roller Lash is definitely an improvement, in my opinion. Benefit have delivered on their promise that this is a “super-curling and lifting mascara”. When I first used it I really noticed how lifted my lashes looked, as if I had used eyelash curlers on them (which I never do). See for yourself; here’s a picture I Instagramed the first time I used Roller Lash (excuse my puffy eyes):

Lately I have really been yearning after the summer. In the past month, the weather in the South East of England has ranged from thunderstorms and heavy rain to mild temperatures with intermittent sunny days. I am waiting patiently for sundresses and suncream weather. To make the wait a little more bearable, I have been using my trusty Dove Summer Glow lotion, a gradual self tanner. This product is nothing new, there are a hundred gradual tanning creams out there, but I like this one for a few key reasons. Firstly, it works really subtly, no orange patchiness in sight. Secondly, it’s a very effective body moisturiser. Thirdly, the smell instantly takes me back to summer and honestly makes me feel a little better. (Plus it’s half price at Superdrug at the moment!)

My next favourite I have been loving for fairly similar reasons as the Dove Summer Glow. I bought the Bourjois Bronzing Primer a long time ago and using it again is making my dull winter skin more bearable. This is a one-shade-suits-all primer that subtly bronzes the skin tone, and can be worn alone or under your foundation. Personally I only like to wear it alone as it’s a nice change from wearing a full on foundation, so this is one of my must-haves for summer. I have been loving it again recently because of it’s light coverage and because it’s colour just wakes my face up and makes my skin look a little less dull. Oh, and it smells like chocolate. Yeah.

Lastly, another rediscovery. This is Lush’s Latte Lip Tint“a moisture shot with a shimmer.” This was an impulse buy when I was standing at the till in Lush a year or two ago and then I never used it because the colour didn’t really suit me. While reorganising my makeup recently I came across it, swatched it on my hand, and realised it would make a beautiful cream blush. So that’s what I’ve been using it as. It’s a warm rosy colour with a bronze shimmer to it, but nothing too glittery. I apply a small amount to the apples of the cheeks and back across my cheekbones with a small stippling brush for a beautiful subtle bronze glow.
