The Body Shop Extra Virgin Minerals Cream Compact – £8
I’ve had this foundation for a little while and have never really got on with it until now. My skin has gone pretty dry, as skin tends to do around this time of year. I was looking in my makeup stash for a light foundation that doesn’t make my skin look too lifeless, and I spotted this buried underneath everything else and thought I’d give it another go. I apply a small amount all over the face with a stippling brush and it gives my skin a really fresh, healthy looking finish. This foundation doesn’t have particularly high coverage or even decent staying power, but a small amount all over and set with a light powder is enough to make me look awake and not horribly dry. I would steer clear of this if you are particularly oily, however. When I first bought it I was oilier (I think it was Spring/Summer time) and it slipped right off my skin.
NYX Liquid Suede Lipstick – £6.50
I have been waiting so long for one of these new lipsticks to feature on my blog! I only managed to get my hands on one (Kitten Heels) when Boots released them online. Unfortunately, most of the colours I wanted had already sold out by the time I went to buy them (just two hours after going live). I will most definitely be buying more when they restock, but in the meantime, here are my first impressions.
Basically I’m in love. It has really good pigmentation and glides onto the lips smoothly. You can feel it set on the lips like with most matte liquid lipsticks, but they don’t set completely dry so they are much more comfortable to wear. Because of this, they don’t have all-day staying power, but that really doesn’t bother me. Personally I’d rather trade off not having to reapply for the comfortable feel that these lipsticks have. I NEED MORE!
Freedom Matte Bronzer – £2
This was a bargain find. I bought this on beautycrowd.com when they had a free delivery offer on (which they also have on at the moment). This is a really very decent matte bronzer that’s not too warm toned and not too pale for my skin, and it’s even more decent because it only cost me £2! I like to use it with my Real Techniques Cheek Brush from the Nic’s Picks collection for a subtle contour.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Liner in Bronze – £3.99
A rediscovery from my makeup collection, this eyeliner has found it’s way back into my everyday makeup favourites. It’s a really lovely wearable bronze that looks perfect with a dark neutral smokey eye or on it’s own smudged into the lashline for a softer liner, as I have been wearing it recently. These Rimmel liners have pretty good longevity too, so they’re great for a really quick easy makeup that looks like you’ve spent more time on it than you have, and will still look good at the end of the day .
